maro Lip Schtick: Ciao, Chowp

Ciao, Chow

USC offensive guru Norm Chow is headed to the bigs. He's leaving the Trojans to become the offensive coordinator for the Tennessee Titans.

Good for him ... but I wonder if Matt Leinart is re-thinking his decision to turn down all that NFL coin by staying at USC one more year?

If I was Leinart, I'd be pissed.

Oh, and as a sidenote - first the Trojans, now the Titans? I see a pattern developing here ... better be careful, Norm. People'll think you have a thing for mythical fighting men in short little skirts.

Can I link you on my blog? You definitely need to become one of my "blogs of note." (Considering the serendipitous nature of our meeting again.)

Yeah, Golden Boy could be screwed. I guess he could hire an agent and enter the draft, but that would certainly give the impression that he's afraid of failing without Chow. Too bad, Matthew.
With McNair nearly retired, i'm curious to see if Chow makes a play for his former student, Rivers, who is currently riding the pine in S.Diego.
But the big coaching story is Pelini following Miles. This works out well, because I can now use Pelini as the scapegoat for the Orange Bowl.

Justin - Hell yes, you can link to me! I'd love it!

Anonymous - I think Leinart and crew will still be OK next year, but we'll see.

As far as Rivers is concerned, he might be a good avenue to try ... especially since Rivers already has a relationship with Chow from NC State. Or maybe he could lure Carson Palmer away from the Bengals one of these days.

And finally, the whole Pelini thing. I say, you gotta go where the better position lies, and it is a promotion. Plus, I'm not disappointed at all to see him go the way I was when Mike Stoops left. But, yes, I think he's just as good a scapegoat as anybody for the Orange Bowl loss. Tee hee.
