You tell me - #5

Those under 30 probably won't know who the hell these people are, but I'll ask anyway.

Who did you like?

Couple #1?

Couple #2?

Don't base your answers on how you feel about them now. I want to know how you felt about them then.

And don't say "neither." Everybody dug one or the other ...

... even if they were too ashamed to admit it.

Definitely Sonny & Cher... "I got you, babe."

Couple #1...Sonny and Cher. They were way hipper than the silly Osmonds.

I have to go with Sonny & Cher. Not only is the music better but so was their fashion sense. I admit I watched both shows!

Donny & Marie!
She sang "Paper Roses" and I bought her album!

Don't tell anyone I said this, but Sonny and Cher was one of the shows I watched growing up in the 60's. They get my vote.

I'm gonna have to break the rules.
Neither. But that was then. I'm 34, and only remember the shows vaguely.
Well, Sonny's deceased, so...
Donny's doing Pyramid, I think.
How about a new pairing? How about Donny and Cher...?

Who in their right mind preferred the Osmonds?!?

Totally Sonny and Cher.

Actually, I could take or leave Sonny. I wanted to be Cher.

I used to practice in front of the mirror: put on my winter coat, start singing slowly, then throw off my coat and sing really fast.

For the record, I'm half a decade under 30 and I know both. And Sonny and Cher are way, way effing cooler than those squeaky-clean Mormons. I mean, you could totally tell they were SOOOO much in love. I don't care what anyone says about Cher, I saw her in concert a few years back during her first Farewell Tour and she rocked my flip flops off. And if you've vere heard their backstory, Sonny MADE her.

Couple? Didn't care about that. But boy did I have a thing for that purple-sock-wearing, little bit rock 'n roll guy. **sigh**

And for a little kid, there was something creepy and Addams family-ish about Sonnie and Cher.

Ooh, pardon. SONNY, not Sonnie.

I confess, I loved them both. But I probably loved Donny and Marie more because I liked to watch them ice skate at the beginning of the show. Funny story...a friend of mine in high school always assumed Donny and Marie were Catholic because anything as good as Donny and Marie had to be Catholic. Then my friend found out they were Mormon and could never watch Donny and Marie again. True story.

I'm so cool I loved them both, but I only blogged about Donny and Marie in "Bump Bump Bread."

Donny and Marie ... TOO squeaky clean and sugary for me.

Sonny and Cher ... Ooooh I too wanted to be Cher. Loved their music and their show. Still love to watch Cher in concert OR in movies.

For the record ... I'm about the same age as Cher.

Personally, I think Cher and Marie would be a cute couple...

Sonny and Cher.

I find it amusing now, but I remember that when they broke up I couldn't understand it.

After all, they sang THAT SONG TOGETHER!!!

Well, she was a little bit country and he was a little bit rock 'n roll and since my best friend saw them in concert in Denver and had a Donny and Marie t-shirt, I'd have to say they were closer to me than Sonny and Cher...
