Welcome back

I must say that it was quite moving tonight to see Dick Clark on his "New Year's Rockin' Eve" broadcast.

I didn't expect him to be on the show since his stroke a couple of years ago. He gets major points for coming back, and for doing a great job.

Happy new year, Dick.

It's nice to have you back.

I'm with you.

When I first saw him on screen, I was amazed that he was back. But the moment I heard him speak...I gotta be honest with you...I was rather alarmed.

It's QUITE a feat for him to have returned to his hosting duties after suffering such a debilitating stroke but I'm pretty worried that he won't have the strength to return next year.

I have a hunch that this is why Ryan Seacrest was riding shotgun. Just in case they decide to rename the show "Seacrest's OUT Rockin' Eve" in 2007.

He made me want to cry. While I admire his determination to regain his speech (and really, he looked pretty darn good), he just made me so sad. When he said the word, "anticipation" I kept saying, "Aw, poor thing" and "bless his heart." I felt sorrier for him having seen him than I did a year ago when I heard he had the stroke.

I take you haven't seen "Bowling For Columbine"? After I saw that movie and the footage of Mr. Clark, I'd be fine if I never saw him on television again. Not that I wish anything bad on him. I just see him in a very different light. And let's not talk about Charleston Heston...
