So it looks like the more appropriate question would have been ...

... am I the only person who doesn't care about owning an iPod?

Yep! I really don't care to own one. I think it isolates people from genuinely participating in life going on around us.

You mean, like blogging does? ;)

I've had an iPod for a couple of years now. Invaluable for the commutes, and beats the heck out of the car radio.

I say to each their own. If you don't care to own an iPod then that's $400 still in your pocket. ;)

But I can't do without mine. Mainly because it frees me from the burden of listening to songs like "My Humps" and "Laffy Taffy." Just the ability to avoid drivel like that makes the thing worth its weight in GOLD.

Which, ironically, is what I paid for it.

The i-pod carries a lot of info at one's fingrtips. My Creative mp3 player, is holding 200 mp3's and all types of files I carry between lap and desk.

The i-pod and mp3 player assure me that I'll never hear another screaming used car ad on FM radio. No Stern. No Imus. Just my tunes, my way.

We all pay for our "distractions"

Please pass the Budweiser.

No, you are not the only person who doesn't care about owning an iPod. You and I, we haven't been brainwashed. Now we just have to de-program these other guys.
