I'm a little alarmed

I just got my annual home alarm system bill.

For the love o'Pete! I love my alarm system, but sheesh! And to add insult to injury ... they only give me two weeks to pay for it. Ugh.

So, friends. Do you have a home alarm system?

And, more importantly: do you use it?

I have an alarm system. Love it. I pay monthly -- for a reason. Got hosed by my last alarm company.

I've got one and I don't even OWN this house.

But my bill has NEVER been that high! Is it a new install or something??

Brandon - Please don't tell me your last alarm company was ADT.

Nicole - Nope! Had it five years.

We just moved into a new house in December and it already had an alarm in it. I'm home alone a lot, so that alarm is my best friend at night. I sleep so much better knowing its on. However, I fully forget about it in the mornings and I am constantly opening the back door to let the dogs out w/out turning off the alarm. Oops. Good morning neighborhood!

We have's a German Shepherd with a vicious bark and an even worse bite :) Seriously though, our two birds go crazy when anyone comes in the house day or night and I'm licensed to carry a handgun in Arizona and we keep one safely locked away j.i.c. So if anything ever happend we'd know about it for sure.

Have you ever had a false alarm? First they call you, then your alternate contact. Then they call the police. By then the crime has been committed and bad guys most likely gone.

$400 would buy a high quality handgun -- or 12 ga. shotgun. Then you wouldn't have to depend on somebody else for protection.

Just one gun nut's suggestion...

Nah, no system here. It's Stillwater for crapsake.

I have one. $74.85 every three months ($15 of which is a service contract on the hardware).

I've set it off accidentally four times in two and a half years; average response time has been 40 seconds.
