The weekly three - week five

I have the travel bug. I get this way quite often ... but sometimes life just gets in the way of fulfilling your travel dreams.

So, I gotta know:

1 - Have you ever traveled out of your home continent?
2 - What is your favorite country in which to travel?
3 - Where would you never go again?

Remember, people. Expound your answers. One word answers are just not as much fun.

I have travled quite a bit out of my home country--the USA, and I can't think of a place I would not want to visit again.

In two months, Jerry and I are celebrating our 50th anniversary, are having a big reception, and going on a cruise to Alaska. We have done that before, and love it. All our children and several friends will be with us.

1. Yes. I was born in Georgetown, Guyana in South America. I have traveled to Europe (London, England; Paris, France; Amsterdam, The Netharlands; and Brussels, Belgium).

2. My favorite country I would have to say is England. My trip to London was amazing...It was such a melting pot of interesting and diverse cultures, rich history, and ,of course, no language barrier.

3. I don't think I'll ever be going to Beaver, OK here in the U.S. anytime soon. No offense, to you who were born and/or still living in a small town - but those green acres is just not the place for me! Give me a bustling, complex, and exciting city any day!

Oh, and I also went to the Phillippines when I was in the sixth grade...too hot and poverty everywhere! Also, although they're in my same home continent -I have been to Toronto, Canada as well as Cancun, Mexico (remember that fun, little countdown Lil Red?).

I've travelled quite extensively outside of Canada but like Shirley, I can't think of a single place I'd never go again.

My favourite places to travel?

Well, I'd love to go back to Sweden now that I can actually sort of speak it, but realistically that's no happening anytime soon on my student budget.

I loved New York, my aunt used to live there, because I don't think I've ever seen so many good shows in sucha short span of time, Montreal, Quebec because I love Quebec and could see myself living there once I graduate. And Ottaw, On because I love my hometown.

1 - I've never left North America. Bummer. I want to go to Japan, Australia and Africa.
2 -Well...I feel unqualified to answer this question but I've certainly enjoyed exploring the U.S.A.!! We really have such a variety of topography and lifestyles. The panhandle of Texas is, in places, like you might imagine Mars to be. Then you can go to the Pacific Northwest and feel the Asian influence and enjoy the abundance of flowers, water and mountains. Then there is New Orleans, which is relaxed and colorful in stark contrast to the quick and efficient style of the Northeast.
3 - Where would you never go again? Hands down: Beaumont, Texas. -shudder-

Yes I have travelled a lot, I'm from Australia and everyone here seems to travel to Europe + Asia. I want to come to the States next. I would never go back to Bali (Indonesia) again. It is full of Australians (the loud mouthed ocker types)

I'm afraid I won't be able to contribute much to this but here goes...

1 -- No :(
2 -- N/A
3 -- N/A

See, that was really depressing.

I have been out of this friggin' country twice.

My favorite place to travel so far is New York City, but England is the best country on the planet. Those accents alone--ugh.

I would never go back to New Orleans on the Amtrack. Give me NOLA via plane, but never via train again!

1. Yes. I've been fortunate enough to travel to Okinawa, Korea the Phillipines, Hong Kong, Canada, but surprisingly for a Texan - never Mexico.

2. My favorite place - bar none - Hawaii.

3. I thought about saying Korea, the whole country smells bad. But naw, I'd probably go again given a chance.
