The weekly three - week six

It's about that time. The time of year when we start trying to lose weight, buy nicer cars, get hair plugs, and invent imaginary awesome jobs ... all in the hope of impressing people at our high school reunions.

So, in the spirit of high school days gone by ...

1 - Have you attended any of your high school reunions?
2 - Was it better or worse than you thought it would be?
3 - Did you fib a little to make yourself sound more impressive?

Bonus question:
4 - Did your old high school flame light your fire again?

Come on ... tell the truth.

I've never gone, so I can't answer #'s 2 & 3. About a year ago I did run into a guy that was my ummm... lets just say "good" friend in h.s., and yeah, there was a spark. Nothing happened, but I didn't stop smiling for a week!

Wow. My 20th comes up in three more years. That is sooo weird to say. I have to admit I never had any respect for the class of 1989 at Muskogee High School - a pack of gutless sheep, the lot of 'em. I wonder about some individual people and sometimes imagine them living out their dreams but I ain't never going back.

Next one is 40th, in 2009. I haven't been to any of them yet.

As for the young lady in question, who turned 52 today, I'm quite sure she's forgotten my existence altogether.

1. There have been two; been to both.
2. Ten-year was fun; I'd just applied to seminary and watching the reactions made my week. 20-year was neat to see some people.
3. Fib? Clergy? Surely you jest.
4. No real old high school flames. That one was in college.

1. Yep---5.
2. It was a huge drunk fest. And, yes, very fun.
3. Nope. I didn't have a kid, that was impressive enough.
4. Puh-lease.

Attended my 20th in '96 and met an old flame who introduced me to her friends as "the first boy she ever slept with" (on the kindergarten mat)... We grew up in the same Chicago neighborhood and we're friends to this day. We dated for awhile after the reunion and created some lasting memories--particularly the one where I woke up the morning after on her pool table. What balls! Looking forward to the 30th in September.

Yep, I went to my fifth. Aside from it being basically a barrel party, it went great. No need to lie, I looked tons better than I did in high school and fat ex-cheerleaders really don't have much in the competition that always goes on when someone else drops a shitload of weight.

Nope, no fire-lighting.

1 - Nope, haven't been out long enough.

2 - I reckon I'll find out someday.

3 - I doubt I'll have to...I hear tid's and bit's from what people are doing now. I'm a good 50 steps ahead *chuckle*

Bonus question:
4 - No and prolly won't ever again. I almost married the drunk bastard.

I've never been to one. I went to elementary school, junior high, and 3 years of high school in my home town, but moved the summer of my senior year, so I never get invited to either high school's reunions. Sucks. I'd definitely go.

Yay! Here goes...

1) Yes, my first one was two years ago. Jebus, I'm a fossil.

2) Much better. I figured only eight people would be there.

3) Neh, not really. Most people didn't remember who the hell I was anyway.

1. No, I've never attended.
2. Can't say, since I've never attended.
3. Well, yes. When I got the little questionaire.

4. I haven't seen my old high school flame in years. He used to look like the now defunct "Ace" from American Idol in high school. I think I might be disappointed to meet a paunchy balding man.
