Office Depot

Do you say it:

Office Dee-poh or Office Depp-oh?

Just curious.

I always enjoy adding, removing or transposing letters from company names.
So I actually call it "Office Despot." Another crowd favorite is "Causal Corner."
Hold your applause, I have dozens of these.

Were I to call it by it's given name, though, I'd probably go "dee-poe." If you want to make this a pseudo-scientific study of regionalisms, I'm from Ohio.

We tend to say, "That office store over in Lawton, the one that isn't Staples, right?"

I say Home Dee-poe and Office Deh-poe. Go figure. Thanks for alerting me to this inconsistency.

What do you say?

One thing I just can't say is "rural route" and even if I could say it, I wouldn't know whether to say "root" or "rout."

Discuss amongst yourselves.
