Playing my cards

I wish I could convey how much more I could do with my life ...

... if I wasn't so addicted to computer solitaire.

Weight Watchers weigh in - week #26

16.8 pounds lost.

5.6 left until I reach my goal.

Nice! Even with all I ate at Thanksgiving, I still stayed within my maintenance weight! Only three weeks left until I reach lifetime!

In a pickle

Speaking of Christmas ...

... does your Christmas tree sport a pickle ornament?

Deck the halls

Did you get your Christmas decorations up this weekend?

If not, when do you usually put them up?

A friend of mine puts hers up the day after Halloween.

That's right.

Not the day after Thanksgiving.

The day after Halloween.

Needless to say, her home is quite the Christmas wonderland.

It makes me wish every day was Christmas!

It's back to work we go

Man is it hard to go back to work after a four-day weekend!

Especially a four-day holiday weekend.

Saturday, November 25, 2006

I'm still full.

Somebody put me out of my misery.

Full as a tick

Since I have been on Weight Watchers I have learned to eat better and eat less.

I try to eat things that have more fiber so that I feel satisfied while not going over my total number of points for the day.

Yesterday I did the Turkey Trot five-mile run at Lake Hefner before having Thanksgiving dinner.

So, I thought that would give me more leeway to really eat all that I wanted.

I did just that.

But man, did I suffer the consequences.

I ate no more yesterday than I usually do at Thanksgiving. In fact, I ate a little less because I think my body is used to having less to feel satisfied.

But I was miserable.

I pretty much did nothing but moan and groan the rest of the day because I felt so full and bloated.

Can't wait 'til next Thanksgiving!

Weight Watchers weigh in - week #25

No weigh in this week because of the Thanksgiving holiday.

I need the consistency of the weigh in!

Not tonight ... I have a headache

When you have a headache, what do you take for it?

I am a huge fan of Excedrin: the headache medicine.

But I know a lot of eople who take Advil. Advil does nothing for me.

Give me the Excedrin and I am a happy camper!

A weighty matter

So when you are trying to lose weight, do you weigh every day?

Or do you go more off how your clothes fit?

I've become a believer in relying on my clothes rather than the scale to show my progress.

I love to eat

Is it bad that I count down the days until Thanksgiving because I cannot wait to gorge myself on all the awesome food?

OK. It probably is bad that I let food control my thoughts like that.

Oh well.

I am human.

Plus, green bean casserole kicks ass!

Guts vs. balls

Someone sent me this recently. I thought I'd share it, to see it you think there is a real difference between having guts and having balls.

Guts and Balls -The Medical Distinction
We've all heard about people having guts or balls. But do you really know the difference between them? In an effort to keep you informed, the definition for each is listed below.

GUTS is arriving home late after a night out with the guys, being met by your wife with a broom, and having the guts to ask: "Are you still cleaning, or are you flying somewhere?"

BALLS is coming home late after a night out with the guys, smelling of perfume and beer, sporting lipstick on your collar, slapping your wife on the butt and having the balls to say: "You're next."

I hope this clears up any confusion on the definitions. Medically speaking, there is no difference in the outcome since both ultimately result in death.

Weight Watchers weigh in - week #24

17.2 pounds lost.

5.2 left until I reach my goal.

Well, it's official!

I reached my Weight Watchers weight loss goal!

Now, before you get too excited, the WW goal I set for myself is different from the one I hope to reach permanently.

Basically, I set my WW goal weight a little higher, so that I would have some leeway to gain here and there.

WW goal weight means that you now have to stay at that goal weight and gain no more than two pounds for six weeks. At the end of the six weeks "maintenance" period, if you stayed within the two pounds, you reach lifetime status.

Lifetime means that you no longer have to pay for the meetings as long as you stay within your goal weight and weigh in once a month.

Role models

Speaking of Tyra Banks, they have GOT to start getting better girls on America's Next Top Model.

I loves me some ANTM, but it seems like the caliber of the contestants is slipping.

Or maybe I'm just too old to watch this sort of nonsense.

Monday, November 13, 2006

I read somewhere recently that Tyra Banks could give Oprah a run for her money someday.

Don't get me wrong, I may be the only human who openly admits that she is not an Oprah fan. But the woman is pretty damn powerful.

On the other had, I sorta dig Tyra, but I'm just not sure she'll ever reach Oprah status.

Do you agree?

Starring roles

If you could choose one reality show to star in, which one would it be, and why?

Saturday, November 11, 2006

Ugly is as ugly does

Does anyone love Ugly Betty as much as I do?

Friday, November 10, 2006

We could be Heroes

I do, however, watch Heroes.

And I love it!

Thursday, November 09, 2006

Missing out?

Apparently I'm the only person who watches neither Grey's Anatomy nor Lost.

And I don't feel like I'm missing anything.

Am I?

Weight Watchers weigh in - week #23

17.4 pounds lost.

Just a number?

How old are you?

How old do you feel?

For the love of the game

Football fans:

Do you prefer NFL or college football?

Sunday, November 05, 2006

Yes, it's weird.

Is it weird that I have the song

I'm in Love with a Stripper

stuck in my head?

That one flight'll kill ya

For the life of me I cannot understand why it is that, when I leave my Weight Watchers meetings, people who have been in the same meeting get on the elevators to go up one flight.

Am I the only one who sees the problem here?

These are not people who are too overweight to require the use of the elevator.

I just don't get it.

Speaking of SNL

Wat is your fave SNL sketch of all time, and why?

Thursday, November 02, 2006

SNL is funny again

I watch Saturday Night Live every weekend (well - let me clarify - I record it every weekend and then watch it when I can).

And every time I ask a friend if they saw a particular SNL sketch recently, I always get the same reply:

"I haven't watched Saturday Night Live in years."

Why is this?

I mean, I know SNL has had its ups and downs, but this season and last I have found particularly funny.

Maybe I'm the only one ...

... and that's ... okay.
